This week’s Pull List is of last week’s books and includes quick reviews of:
Wulf & Batsy #1
Billy the Kid’s Old Timey Oddities #4
The Goon #12
Adventures of Superman #642
Birds of Prey #84
Day of Vengeance #3
Red Sonja #1
Marvel Knights Spider-Man #16
Astonishing X-Men #11
House of M #4
Ricardo Porven briefly mentions my involvement on Three Days the Devil Danced in his Sequential Tart interview.
I’m being forced to take a much more relaxed approach to when I get reviews up. Especially the Pull List reviews, which take much longer for me to do than I always expect them to.
So, with that in mind, I posted a couple of reviews earlier this week and forgot to tell you about them:
Runes of Ragnan
Pull List featuring:
Action Comics #829
Seven Soldiers: Guardian #3
Rann-Thanagar War #3
All-Star Batman & Robin, the Boy Wonder #1
New Avengers #7
New Conan column is up at Pop Thought. I talk about the first two issues of Marvel’s Conan the Barbarian series.
Just posted an “interview” with Vampirella editor Bon Alimagno on CWN.
And the Pull List from a couple of weeks ago is finally up, covering:
Villains United #3
Y: The Last Man #35
Strange Girl #2
Johnny Public #9
Marvel Team-Up #10
Shanna the She Devil #6
House of M #3
Plastic Farm #10
I went away on vacation last week and actually did a little writing before buying and becoming addicted to the PC version of Sid Meier’s Pirates.
Cold Summer: Book One
Went to the post office tonight to mail some Tales from the Inner Sanctum and picked up some mail in the process. Wanna know what I got? Okay.
Johnny Public #9 from Hula Cat Comics. So far I’ve loved everything I’ve read from these guys. They’re basically very fancy mini-comics. I haven’t read any Johnny Public though, so it’ll be interesting to see what it’s like coming in on the middle of the series.
Death Comes to Monkeysuit: A Monkeysuit Anthology #5. Nice, thick book. The art is varied, professional, and fun to look at. Looking forward to digging into this.
Myriad #1-3. I gave the first issue of this anthology series a mixed review, but the guys were cool enough to send me the next two issues (as well as another copy of #1). Gonna keep an open mind about the stories I didn’t like in #1, but I’m looking forward to the continuations of a couple of stories.
